okami - goblin market by chupachup okami - goblin market by chupachup
Okami is my favorite video game, I'm really happy to see a contest for it! All the entries look amazing!

One of the best parts of Okami has to be the clever character designs (all those fabulous oni!) and creative use of Japanese folklore, so for this entry I decided to mix up the former with a Western twist on the latter. An Okami take on Christina Rosetti's poetry masterpiece "Goblin Market."

Nice. A creative recreation of a good poem (though I have yet to read it all.....) However weren't there two sisters? And the oni should still follow some description of what the beasts in the poem looked like.

NEAT twist on a classic tale!

Have you ever heard of the "Hyakki Yakou," the spirit parade in Japanese lore? I could NOT stop thinking about it while reading the poem, so I'm really glad a piece like this came up! :D
